Policy Positions for BC
Kerry-Lynne Findlay's commitment to restoring freedom, protecting rights, and putting British Columbians first.
Repeal No Fault
Repeal ICBC's no-fault system. Restore rights. Put British Columbians first.
British Columbians were promised a simpler, cheaper 'no-fault' system. Instead, many crash victims have been forced into a model where a government monopoly largely decides what support they receive - with limited ability to challenge unfair decisions.
When someone suffers a serious injury, they deserve timely care, fair compensation, and a real right to independent review.
As Premier, Kerry-Lynne Findlay will repeal the NDP's harsh no-fault ICBC insurance system and restore meaningful legal rights for individuals with injuries to pursue full and fair compensation in court, including for income loss and non-economic damages.
Policy Commitments
- ✓Repeal no-fault and restore victims' rights
- ✓Guarantee timely care and recovery supports
- ✓Protect the right to representation in court for all British Columbians
- ✓Strengthen accountability and transparency
Repeal Bill 36 (HPOA)
Repeal the HPOA (Bill 36). Restore medical freedom. Restore free speech. Restore rights. Put British Columbians first.
British Columbia runs on people who work - including our dedicated doctors, nurses and health professionals who show up every day to care for us and our families. But the NDP government is crushing that spirit with more control and red tape.
On November 24, 2022, the NDP passed the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) - Bill 36. It comes into force on April 1st, 2026. It rips away the self-regulation that our health colleges have had for decades. It hands real power to government-appointed boards. It changes how doctors are disciplined and makes it harder for them to speak freely on behalf of patients.
Doctors call it a gag order that treats them like the enemy instead of the trusted experts they are. It puts politics and bureaucracy ahead of patient care.
As Premier and Leader of the Conservative Party of BC, Kerry-Lynne Findlay will fully repeal the Health Professions and Occupations Act on day one. We will restore self-regulation, protect the doctor-patient relationship, defend free speech and medical freedom for our health professionals and their patients, and get the government out of the way so our great healthcare workers can do what they do best - look after British Columbians.
Policy Commitments
- ✓Fully repeal Bill 36 on day one
- ✓Restore self-regulation to health professions
- ✓Protect the doctor-patient relationship
- ✓Defend free speech and medical freedom
Repeal Bill 21 (LPA)
Repeal the Legal Professions Act 2024 (Bill 21). Restore legal independence and self-regulation. Defend your rights and freedoms.
British Columbia runs on people who work - including the lawyers and legal professionals who stand up every day to protect our rights and keep our justice system fair. But the NDP government is crushing that independence with more control and red tape.
In 2024, the NDP passed the Legal Professions Act - previously known as Bill 21. It shuts down the Law Society of BC and creates a new government-heavy regulator for lawyers, notaries and paralegals. It slashes the power of elected lawyers and hands real control to political appointees. It puts bureaucrats between lawyers and their clients and threatens the independence of the entire legal profession.
Lawyers and bar associations call it an attack on the rule of law that will make it harder for everyday British Columbians to get fearless representation when they need it most - especially against the government itself.
As Premier and Leader of the Conservative Party of BC, Kerry-Lynne Findlay will fully repeal the Legal Professions Act on day one. We will restore true self-regulation and independence to the legal profession, protect the lawyer-client relationship, defend the rule of law, and make sure lawyers can fearlessly advocate for their clients and for your rights and your freedoms without government interference.
Policy Commitments
- ✓Fully repeal Bill 21 on day one
- ✓Restore true self-regulation to the legal profession
- ✓Protect the lawyer-client relationship
- ✓Defend the rule of law and legal independence
Save Our Salmon Farms
Save the Salmon Farms. Protect Coastal Jobs. Make groceries more affordable. Put British Columbians first.
British Columbia runs on people who work - including the thousands of workers in our salmon farming and aquaculture industry who show up every day to feed families and strengthen our coastal communities. But the NDP government and their allies in Ottawa are crushing that way of life.
On June 22, 2024, at the stroke of midnight, Justin Trudeau and the Liberals in Ottawa cancelled marine fin fish farming licenses in British Columbia. Thousands of workers lost their livelihoods. Coastal towns that depend on aquaculture were abandoned. And all of it was done behind closed doors, without meaningful consultation, and without any real plan for the people affected.
This wasn't about protecting wild salmon. The federal government's own science showed that salmon farms posed minimal risk. This was politics, plain and simple - backed by foreign-funded activist groups and an NDP government that was happy to let Ottawa gut BC's economy.
As Premier and Leader of the Conservative Party of BC, Kerry-Lynne Findlay will stand up for our salmon farmers and aquaculture workers. She will fight to restore marine fin fish farming licenses and protect the jobs and families that depend on them. She will push back against Ottawa's overreach and demand that BC workers get a fair deal.
Policy Commitments
- ✓Fight to restore marine fin fish farming licenses
- ✓Protect salmon farming jobs and coastal communities
- ✓Stand up to Ottawa's overreach
- ✓Demand a fair deal for BC workers and families
